kind of appropriate these days, but hey - no rest for the whiny. revisiting a recently put-away CG work, featuring some minor edits and major filtering… you’ll remember it from this post:

Lighting’s pretty dark here but the contrasts make it work.

In other news: Someone requested another private commission with a jazz/blues theme. That makes 3 in the last 6 months so I have to ask- is this a fad or making a come back or what?

I love jazz, love the blues even more but… the timing between all 3 requests seems odd.

Guess all things come in waves.

The dragonfly was chosen to represent Kazerin because of its symbolism in the far east. Japanese legend claims Japan used to be called Akitsushima – Isle of the Dragonfly. They revered the dragonfly as a symbol of strength, enlightenment, success, and happiness.

I see it as a symbol of transformation and light… which just might be the best path towards accepting change and maturing because of it.

It is said that people who have the dragonfly as their totem have had emotional and passionate early years, but as they get older they balance their emotions with mental clarity and control. The dragonfly symbolizes the process of going beyond limiting self-created illusions toward a mature sense of self.
